Back to Market!

We attended our first furniture market in two years and boy was it a blast!  Seeing new product, color, fabrics and trends up close and touching everything was inspirational!  There was a dichotomy in the market that actually worked so well together…natural neutrals and color everywhere.    Sophisticated neutrals, bright color, deep, rich hues, pretty pastels….it was a jungle out there!  When it comes to furniture trends, we are still seeing neutrals…with a heavy mid century modern influence in lines and color; wood arms, burnt orange and ginger leathers.  Plush comfortable sectionals are still everywhere and wicker accents in dinning reworked to modern tastes.  My personal favorite was the Lotus Sectional by Palliser.  It has so many great features like the tilted headrest, phone chargers and hidden storage!

This year’s color of the year was very interesting.  Pantone selected a vibrant purple while most other companies went with more muted tones.  At first I didn't connect with "very peri" and it wasn't until I came across an Italian design company that did these inspiration boards and finally saw the beauty!

While we didn't see much periwinkle at the furniture market, I can see where the inspiration came from.  I would say the accent color of the furniture market was a blush pink and retro orange.

We are more than half way through 2022 and 2023 is knocking….So what will be the new palette?  I think we will be sticking with the neutrals and relaxing tones.  Think of the outdoors and perhaps some jewel tones to help us relax in these turbulent times!  Sherwin Williams already announced their picks for 2023 called, The Vintage Homestead Color Collection featuring color of the year,  Darkroom.

We were thrilled to see in 2022 a return to markets and look forward to January 2023 Las Vegas Market!
